Photographer/Director David Butow shot a video trailer for the new novel, set in Hollywood and this is his “director’s cut” The narration is from the perspective of a young actress originally from a deeply religious family in the South, who leaves her family and friends behind to attempt a career in Hollywood. The book is filled with vivid descriptions of LA: the contrasts of neighborhoods and the stark differences between those who have achieved success and those still trying. The story often has a dreamy, timeless feel which David tried to reflect by using stop motion effects to vary the pace.
