Claudio Cricca was born in Bologna, Italy in 1968. He began studying photography in 1994, and has attended international classes in photojournalism in Italy and the US. In 2004 and 2007, his works were selected as winning photos at The Humanity Photo Awards. In 2008, his first book, “faceless”, about the Criminally Insane Asylums in Italy, was published. Also in 2008, he won the Gold Award of Excellence at the “Biennial Juried Photography Show” at the Edward Hopper Museum in Nyack, New York. His photographs are included in the permanent collection at The Portland Art Museum in Portland, Oregon. Claudio’s work has been published internationally in various newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, National Geographic Italia, The Herald Tribune, Geo Germany, VSD, Le Monde2, New Scientist, L’Espresso, Foto 8, D di Repubblica, IO Donna, GQ Italia, Internazionale, USA Today, Private, Venerdì, Economy and many more.
