Melissa Golden

Location: Washington, DC

Melissa Golden is a photographer based out of Washington D.C., where she documents the bedlam that is American politics and the subjects who make it so interesting. When she is not running around the Capital, Melissa likes to turn her camera toward her two favorite subjects- disasters and American subcultures. To this end, she has photographed religious theme parks, western megafires, tropical storms and the world of competitive air guitar.

Melissa is a University of Georgia graduate with degrees in International Affairs and Journalism, interests that date back to her formative years as a military brat.  She was raised in the Deep South, out west, up north and even in the Middle East. She never tires of roaming the highways and byways and eating at every greasy spoon, taco truck and street food cart along the way.

Melissa is a member of the White House News Photographers Association and Senate Press Photographers Gallery and is fully credentialed for work on and around Capitol Hill.  She counts TIME, The Atlantic, Marie Claire, Essence, Inc. and the AARP Bulletin among her clients.
