Melissa Golden

Location: Washington, DC

Melissa Golden is a photographer based out of Washington D.C., where she documents the bedlam that is American politics and the subjects who make it so interesting. When she is not running around the Capital, Melissa likes to turn her camera toward the myriad subcultures of the American landscape. She has photographed religious theme parks, cat show people, bodybuilders and the world of competitive air guitar.

A graduate with a degree in International Affairs and Journalism from the University of Georgia, Melissa was a military brat, raised in the Deep South, out west, up north and even in the Middle East. She never tires of roaming the highways and byways and eating at every greasy spoon, taco truck and street food cart along the way.

Melissa is a member of the White House News Photographers Association and Senate Press Photographers Gallery and is fully credentialed for work on and around Capitol Hill. She has gone on assignment for TIME Magazine, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, and PARADE Magazine, among other publications.
