Torbien

Torbien grew up on a small farm in Sweden. He got his first camera when he was 8 years old from his grandmother. He began taking pictures of her and kept on doing this till her death in 1991. This is where his interest for the documentary picture began. Torbien attended the International Center of Photography documentary program, which pushed his career of becoming a professional photographer in 1996. Torbien has always been interested in different aspects of life. This has taken him on shorter or longer journeys around the world. In 2004 he received a one-year working grant from the Swedish art Council for a project in the Middle East.
